Just Presented at TEI'23!

March 14, 2023

I just had a great time at TEI'23: Tangible, Embodied and Embedded Interaction.

I presented three papers there: one paper and two pictorials. They are all very different and covering varying aspects of my research.

Surprisingly -- I was awarded a Diversity/Inclusion award for the pictorial where I describe the intra-actions between me and many other agents around me during the pregnancy and childbirth of my third child! Most importantly, it was really rewarding to present this pictorial, and the feedback I got and conversations it generated mean a lot to me. I am glad I am taking steps in the direction of the type of research and topic I will want to do in the future.

But back to drones! We presented both a conceptual design of a drone as a companion for breathing, and a method for analysing and discussing data through illustrations. Both are (I think!) quite fun papers to read. I would like to encourage anyone interested in designerly ways of treating data to try out our Conversational Composites method!

Now on to the presentation of my Licentiate Degree!
